Karen works on my race horses every week. One horse in particular, "In The Beat" had many issues, predominately in his hindend. Even though he is a low end claiming horse (running for $14,000 to $25,000 claiming tag) we affectionately called him the ATM machine, as he always ran in the money bringing home a check. He was claimed by another trainer. When they went to run the horse,he did not pass the state vet check. They said he could not run, as he was too sore in his hindend. One of the reasons being, he did not have the "Healing Hands" addressing his problems.
I have another horse being worked on "His Girl Friday, who also has muscular issues, but she won a maiden special weight (highest maiden race) race. I cannot even begin to say how the work done by "Healing Hands" has helped my horses. Thank you!

His Girl Friday
Not only is Karen an extraordinary person with a kind and caring heart, she is an amazing equine massage therapist. She truly has healing hands.
I first met Karen a year after my horse had a soft tissue injury behind. My vet told me I could wait it out over the winter or call Karen. I waited it out and it did heal. It took the entire winter. About 6 months later, he injured it again and this time I called Karen. It was healed in about 6 weeks of weekly therapy with all of her specialized equipment. She doesn't just rub them. When she started working on him he did not like to be touched and now he almost falls asleep on the crossties while she works on him. Karen has been massaging my horse for several years every other week even though he is retired. It helps keep the kinks out when he does himself in. I would not have it any other way.

MAGIC TOUCH ~ Without the knowing hands of Philip Samuels and Karen Hanna, I would not have my best equine friend.
They can feel potential problems before they are even evident. With their modern tools, experience and magical touch, little issues are solved, and bigger ones can be helped before they become permanent injuries.
When my horse had EPM, then never gave up on him. When he severly injured his deep digital flexor, and the vet wasn't sure he'd make it, Philip worked with the doctor, and between all of us, I'm back riding and loving Gstaad.
I can never be thankful enough that they are in my life, as well as in our horses. They are amazing people, therapists and friends for life.

Karen has been massaging my 11 year old thoroughbred for about two years now. I could not be happier with the results I have seen. Prior to Karen, my horse has had on and off soundness issues that no vet could ever pin point. After trying countless numbers of therapies and tests, I decided to just give her time off. During that time, is when I met Karen and I decided to give her services a try, since I had nothing to lose at that point. When she first started working with my mare, she was very reluctant to relax and trust Karen BUT I noticed a difference after the very first massage. After that first day, she has treated her every other week since. Not only has there been a huge change in how she goes under saddle, but she has also come to relax and enjoy her massage/treatments (and even fall asleep a time or two!). Not only do I have a happy and pain free horse now, but I have also learned so much from Karen. I am able to do so many exercises and techniques that she has taught me, on my own time.

I met Karen Hanna almost two years ago, through a very good friend of mine. She was recommended to us after we took in Kaz, an abused 10 year old OTTB, who was severely underweight. The first day we met Karen, we knew she would be able to help him. She worked with him giving him massages and treatments. She had an amazing way of knowing exactly what this horse needed. Karen is so compassionate with what she does. He flourished over the next 6 months. We were able to adopt Kaz out to an amazing home. Karen now comes regularly to care for my other horses. She has also showed me how to communicate with my horses through massage. Her son Philip, also massage therapist, works on my 13 yr old chocolate lab and has made him so comfortable in his final days. I highly recommend Karen and Philip to anyone.

I cannot even begin to express how thankful I am that my horse has Karen Hanna in his life. My horse, Shady, has chronic back soreness and also had Lyme's Disease. For many years, Shady dealt with an extremely sore back. When Karen first met Shady, if she even laid a hand on his back, he would try to get away from the pain it caused him by flinching and dipping his back towards the floor. It has been about 3 years since Shady was at his worst. Thanks to Karen's hard work , Shady barely flinches now when his back is touched. She has done amazing work on him and it is so nice to have a horse that is no longer in pain. Karen cares so much about the horses she works on, and made sure throughout my journey with Shady that I was able to keep him comfortable when she was not around. I still use Karen to maintain my horse's back, and every time she walks into the barn, my horse instantly relaxes and knows that he is in good hands. I am forever thankful for the great work that Karen has done for my horse!
